A plain sign of 2 people being in a functional, healthy relationship is when the relationship extracts the best in each one. They become better versions of themselves. But have you ever heard that the same can happen to your beloved foods, too? No need to get confused, let me explain it to you…

Some foods are better eaten at the same time to get the maximum of their nutritional benefits in the greatest manner possible. How easily a nutrient is broken down, absorbed and utilized by the body can be enhanced when another nutrient from other food is available. Now I'll be presenting 10 food combos that are better together.

1. Garlic + Fish

It comes as no surprise that those 2 flavors are a pair made in paradise, and they are heart-healthy as well. Preparing fish with garlic boosts the cholesterol-reducing abilities in fish oils more than if it’s cooked without spices. And when those 2 are united, the garlic can also act as an anti-inflammatory agent.

2. Tomatoes + Avocados

For what reason do tomatoes go very well with guacamole (apart from tasting delicious, of course)? Tomatoes are packed with a cancer-preventing antioxidant named lycopene, which makes them what we name a “carotenoid.” Tomatoes are also full with healthy fats, like the ones in avocados, these fats are capable to essentially pick up carotenoids from the stomach and spread them throughout your body. This cancer-fighting combination can be served as a great big colorful salad.

3. Kombucha + Cashews

Eating cashews as a snack is an amazing way to get a supercharge of zinc and protein, which operates as an immune booster. Studies demonstrate that fermented products like Kombucha aid to better the absorption of zinc in the gut. Making this immune boosting combination a perfect snack on the go!

4. Sweet Potato + Coconut Oil

Sweet potatoes are packed with vitamin A, which plays a huge role in protecting healthy hair and skin. Vitamin A is absorbed more easily when mixed with a fat source like coconut oil. Make baked sweet potatoes fries utilizing coconut oil and you’ll be shining in no time.

5. Black Beans + Lime

Citrus fruits like lime offer greater levels of vitamin C, which makes the plant-based iron in black beans more easygoing for your body to utilize. Try to order your tacos with a hint of lime and black beans for healthy cells and lungs.

It’s quite amazing how the foods that taste and smell so good together are really meant to be united.

What is the powerful food combination you liked the most?
